DIY Scrap Fabric Wrapped Hangers {Video}

If you’re like me, you probably have a stash of fabric scraps just waiting for the perfect project. Instead of letting those precious bits and pieces go to waste, why not turn them into something both adorable and functional?

Fabric-wrapped hangers are a quick and easy way to give new life to even the thinnest of fabric scraps, keeping them out of the landfill and adding a touch of handmade charm to your closet. Plus, these cute hangers do double duty by helping your clothes stay securely in place. It’s the perfect scrap-busting project that is guaranteed to put a smile on your face every time you open your closet!

Gather Your Materials and Supplies

The materials you need to make this project are ridiculously minimal.

  • Hangers (Doesn’t matter which ones you use)
  • Craft Glue (I use Aleene’s tacky glue)
  • 1″ inch fabric scraps

    Yup, that’s all you need.

How to Wrap Hangers with Scrap Fabric

  1. Start by placing a small amount of glue at the end of a fabric strip. Attach the strip to the hanger at an angle, positioning it as close to the neck of the hook as possible.
  2. Begin wrapping the fabric strip around the hanger at an angle, continuing until you reach the end of the strip.
  3. When you reach the end, apply a bit of glue to secure the strip to the hanger.
  4. To start the next strip, place it on top of the end of the previous strip, then continue wrapping the fabric around the hanger. Repeat this process until the entire hanger is covered.
  1. To wrap the hook, apply glue down the center of one end of a fabric strip. Fold the strip in half around the end of the hook to secure it.
  2. Bring the rest of the strip up and around the top of the hook.
  3. Continue wrapping until you reach the base of the hook, where it meets the hanger.
  4. If you have any extra fabric, simply continue wrapping down the hanger and secure it with glue.

And that’s it. In minutes, you’ve just made your closet more charming and eco-friendly!
